Crash, boom, bang!

You see this lovely little door "ding" here? Well, since this is a Toyota and all, I was kinda hoping to blame the damage on an out-of-control accelerator and have my repair bill completely paid for... Ok, so that's only partially true.

So, a week ago yesterday, I was backing out of our garage. All of a sudden, I heard a crunching sound. As it turns out, the rear door on the driver's side popped open and hit the metal support beam on the edge of the garage door opening.

This damage shouldn't have happened though. I would have never backed out if I knew all my doors weren't securely closed. The worst part of all was that the little red icon showing a car door is still open never showed up on my dashboard.

You'd think this damage would be completely covered under my warranty, but the dealership says no. They ran some stupid test that showed the "Door is ajar" icon came on every time they opened any of my car's doors, so they said they wouldn't be paying for anything. Well, of course they are going to deny anything that they know I can't prove. My word is not enough.

As I'm getting ready to drop off my car at the repair shop today (for several hundreds of dollars of work), I'm seriously considering never going to that dealership again. We've bought four cars from them in the past four years and sent several maintenance jobs their way, but that may all be done for now. I AM NOT HAPPY!!!!!
