See this photo right here? This is proof that I can still look young, cute and fun. In this case, I was a bridesmaid having fun at the wedding reception of my very good friend Connie. While the picture was from September of 2007, I don't think I look a whole lot different now (minus the extra poundage you all already know I'll be getting rid of by July 4). Anyway, fast-forward to April 2010. I had to show my driver's license to someone yesterday, and she said something that really stuck with me. It was, "You don't look like your picture. You look much older."
Wow, really? Even if you think that about someone, why would you ever actually say that to their face, especially if you don't know them? I have to admit it, though. That comment kinda stung. I know I'm not in grade school any more, but I still pay attention to what other people think or say about me.
Even if her comment wasn't meant to be mean, I totally took it that way. Maybe she didn't even realize what she said, but I can tell you one thing. Her comment has totally lit a fire under my butt. Now, I have more motivation than ever to whip myself into shape and become a true "hot mama."
I won't be taking this journey alone. You see, I have some help. I got my Wii Fit Plus as Christmas gift, and I'm actually going to start using it now. Also, I just picked up a "Dancing with the Stars" workout DVD. Here I go!
